Virgo 23rd August - 22nd Sept

Virgo is the sibling of the sign of Gemini as they are both ruled by the planet Mercury and therefore a very logical and brainy sign. Communication, speech, thought and language is likely to be a big focus, but mainly utilised in a practical sense. Ruled by their heads, Virgo's are generally well informed and know lots of facts, but they over analyze everything, go into too much detail and worry too much.

Being a rather grown up and sensible earth sign, the material world is important to them and they are prepared to work very hard in order to maintain a good standard of living. Virgo's are the helpers of the zodiac who often spend a lot of their time being of service to other people in some way and they like to be kept busy and useful. However, unlike their opposite sign of Pisces, they do not allow themselves to be used and are only willing to help people who are prepared to help themselves. Liking things neat and tidy, they have the ability to bring order out of chaos and generally take an organised, rational and practical approach to matters. Very meticulous, they do everything properly and have very high standards they expect everyone else to measure up to. Virgo's are acutely discriminating perfectionists, who cast their critical eye over everything and everyone, especially themselves. Often misinterpreted by others as a tendency to find fault, Virgo is just pointing out the pitfalls, in order that the situation can be improved.

One of the more modest and quieter of the zodiac signs, Virgo's do not have bags of self confidence like the preceding sign of Leo and don't want to be the centre of attention either. However, they do like to be thanked or recognised when they've done a good job or helped someone out and not be taken for granted. Cleanliness, hygiene, health and diet are all high on the agenda for most Virgo's, which is why they have a reputation for being the hypochondriacs of the zodiac!
